I PURCHASED THIS BOOK WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT BUT DID NOT THINK TO DO A REVIEW. I WAS HOOKED FROM THE FIRST CHAPTER AND COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. THE CHARACTERS WERE SO REAL AND THE SETTING OF THE TIME PERIOD IN THE SOUTH SO RIGHT ON. THERE ARE MORE TWIST AND TURNS IN THIS STORY THAN A CAR RIDE UP TO PIKES PEAK. This is a great book for Baby Boomers. The story takes place in a little backwoods town in the South in the late 1960s. Throughout the book, there are many different references to the way things used to be when I was a kid. I forgot so much of that stuff. It was fun remembering it again.
But that's just a small part of it. The story is fascinating. It's a true page turner. I read the whole book in two nights and would have read it straight through if I hadn't had to work.
It held my interest the whole way. And the twists at the end! Didn't see them coming at all.
If you're a baby boomer, get this book. You'll love it!

First let me start by saying I am not a reader. I do not like to read but a friend convinced me to read this book. This book is amazing. It is enthralling. I could not put it down. I read it in one setting because I did not want to leave the place it draws you to or the suspense and emotions you will feel as you read. You will be whisked away and drawn into the story and you will not want to leave. This book is mesmerizing.
The story is well written, keeping the reader engaged until the startling ending. Any suspense/mystery reader should pick up this book. You will not be able to put it down.
